Germinate- to sprout and begin to develop into a seedling
Seedling-the new plant that develops from an embryo and has roots, a stem and leaves.
Pistil- the central part in a flower where seeds form
Petal- the the brightly colored part of a flower that helps attract birds, bees and other insects to a flower
Stemen- the part of a flower that produces pollen, which is needed to form seeds
Pollen- the powdery grains in a flower, they must be carried from a stamen to a pistil in order for seeds to form.
Fruit- the part of a flower that forms around a seed.
Cones- the part of a conifer that produces pollen or seeds
Scales- a cone’s woody part on which seeds grow
